THE PROJECT

Create an online digital campaign page for the product launching of Canon’s new line of full frame mirrorless camera, the EOS R Camera System.

THE CHALLENGE

The product was top-secret at the time that we were developing the concept designs. We have to create the layout and webpage structures without us knowing the actual look of the visual assets. The microsite needs to be shipped and launched within 4 weeks at the start of the project.

 We received the final assets on the day before the website launch. The design and development has been planned and structured that the assets will just be replaced at the last minute. Some of the changes and updates have been done on the live site to meet the launch deadline.

The Design Solution

This new camera boasts of an “Unrivalled Optical Technology” and the new system was created to realise not just the ideal lens design but also achieve high-spec data transmission between body and lens.

 We have used the “galaxy” as the key visual that would tell the over-all narrative of this new line of camera. It is with the power of optics that made it possible for us humans to have a more intimate glimpse of the universe and the mysterious and beautiful lights that illuminates the sky. It is the “magic” of optics that helped us break through the darkness of the universe and reveal to us the beauty of those lights hidden in the darkness.

 Our main visuals are rendered in midnight black with the mesmerizing colours of the galaxy. The EOS R sits right at the center of the key visual, announcing the arrival of a new camera system. A 360 view of the camera is also positioned floating atop the magnificent galaxy.

 We have used white colour backgrounds for the sections such as accessories, key features and developer’s interview to achieve balance as the users scrolls down to access the technical details of the camera.
